About Us

The Post is open:
Weekdays from 2 pm until about 8 pm. Weekends and holidays from noon until about 8 pm. When there is a Post function we may close later.

The Post 534 does it's good work through the support of volunteers and dedicated Veterans. Together we work to improve our local community, state, and nation while having fun in the process.

Post 534 Community Involvement

Orcutt Post 534 supports our veterans and community with:

• Volunteers working at the Santa Maria VA Medical Clinic
• Sponsors Boy Scout Troop 91 & Cub Scout Pack 91
• Send 3 local high schools students to our Boys State & Girls State educational programs
• Provides scholarships to local high school students from The American Legion and Auxiliary
• Provides color guard & firing squad for Veteran memorial services
• Our Color Guard traditionally marches in local parades
• Support the Caltrans Adopt-a-Highway program
• We put up and decorate the Orcutt Christmas Tree annually

Post 534 Social Activities

Breakfast & Dinner
The Post or the Auxiliary usually serves one breakfast and one dinner each month. You can volunteer to assist by contacting the Post 2nd. Vice Commander. Or you can please come to eat and socialize.

Darts
Monday evenings the Post offers darts.

Snacks
Friday evenings are usually associated with snacks and additional social activities.

Veteran's Affairs
Our Service Officer provides information, direction, and support for those Veterans needing assistance.

Old Town Report
Post 534 publishes a monthly newsletter, the Old Town Report. Please provide information to be published on or before 7 p.m. on the Friday following the E-Board Meeting each month. You may also email your information for the Old Town Report to webmaster@post534.org Guidlines for submitting information to be published in the Old Town Report or the Post web site are provided in the "Publication Protocols & Guidelines" document:
The newsletter is assembled and mailed the second Thursday following the Executive Board Meeting each month starting 10 a.m. at the Post. Volunteers are always welcome!
